    76 new members added at the 3rd Meeting of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance 2020-11-25

    On 21 November 2020, China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance (“Industry-Education Alliance”) held its 3rd meeting in Qingdao, sponsored by BEWG and Qingdao University of Technology, in collaboration with BEWG Water Affairs Institute, Qingdao Guanghua Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Nanyang Spiral Pump Industry Pte. Ltd. (Qingdao), and Beijing Obel Software Technology Development Co., Ltd.. At the same time, the meeting concurrently held the 3rd Industry-Education Integration Summit Forum and the 1st Environmental Industry Human Resources Summit Forum, focusing on industry pain points, difficulties, big data analysis, and directly addressing key problems in talent training and development.
      
    More than 230 persons attended the meeting and forums, including Mr. GE Weiyan, First Level Inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment; Mr. LIN Wenhua, Director of Comprehensive and Science and Technology Division of Shandong Provincial Department of Ecological Environment; Ms. Han Hongyan, Second Level Inspector of Qingdao Ecological Environment Bureau; Mr. YOU Minxi, Director of Second Office of Regional Ecological Environmental Inspection, Shandong Provincial Department of Ecological Environment; Mr. TAN Xiusen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Qingdao University of Technology; Mr. YU Liguo, Chairman of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, Senior Vice President of BEWG, Dean of BEWG College; Mr. YU Liangfa, Assistant President of BEWG, East Region General Manager; among other participants from allied universities and corporate members.
     
    In the morning, the opening ceremony of the meeting was presided over by Mr. BI Xuejun, Vice Chairman of China Eco-Environment Industry Alliance and Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Qingdao University of Technology. Mr. TAN Xiusen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Qingdao University of Technology, delivered a speech and introduced the construction and development of Qingdao University of Technology in the past 70 years; the University would take this as an opportunity to actively coordinate with the national policy of integration of industry and education, vigorously promote the reform of talent training mode, and deepen school-enterprise cooperation to train more high-quality professionals to better serve the high-quality development of China.
      
    Mr. GE Weiyan, the first-level inspector of the Shandong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, delivered a speech. He said: China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance is a school-enterprise resource sharing platform, and created a new model for mutually discuss the integration and development of industry and education; this is a strategic measure to promote the organic connection of the education chain, the talent chain, the industrial chain, and the innovation chain, and to promote the inter-connection, coordination, and mutual promotion of the priority development of education and the development of industrial innovation. He hopes that the alliance platform will continue to uphold the ambition and positive energy of cooperative education and collaborative education, and make greater contributions to the modernization of environmental industry education.
      
    Mr. YU Liguo, Chairman of the China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, Senior Vice President of BEWG, and Dean of BEWG College, made a work report on the 2020 Alliance Work Summary and 2021 Action Plan. Mr. YU first summarized the work of the Alliance for 2019-2020, and put forward a clear plan for the work in 2021. He pointed out that currently, facing the real dilemma of "inadequate core technology and inadequate innovation" in the environmental protection industry, the Alliance under the guidance of the corporate development strategy in the digital age integrates "industry, learning, research, application, and innovation", relies on Internet thinking, committed to giving play to the important role of enterprises, deepening higher education reform, and converging the efforts of all parties to actively promote the intellectual resources of universities and enterprises at home and abroad to participate in the technological innovation in the ecological environment, explore and cultivate diversified environmental protection technologies and outstanding talents to empower the transformation and upgrading of the industry.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. LI Jinghua, director of the Well-off and Happiness Project Office of China Environmental Protection Foundation and expert of the Campus Energy Conservation Professional Committee of China Energy Conservation Association, shared the culture of waste sorting.
     
    At the meeting, the Human Resources Professional Sub-committee of the Environmental Protection Industry under the Alliance, and the Municipal Environment Virtual Simulation Smart Education Quality Resource Innovation Sub-committee (Alliance) were formally inaugurated. At the same time, Mr. YU Liguo and other leaders of the Alliance awarded medals to the newly added 2 vice-chairperson entities and 76 director entities. Witnessed by all the guests, Mr. YU presented trophies to the first 10 demonstrative entities of China's environmental industry-education integration.
      
    This meeting is in the innovative "1+2+1" model: Alliance meeting + 2summit forums + Beautiful China-2020 special recruitment fair for college students in environmental industry. In the afternoon, the 3rd Industry-Education Integration Summit Forum was held at the same time as the 1st Environmental Industry Human Resources Summit Forum.
     
    The 3rd Industry-Education Integration Summit Forum is themed "New Industry-Education·New Benchmark·More Integration". The invited guests include: Mr. LI Weiguang, Director of the Teaching Guidance Subcommittee of Water Supply and Drainage Science and Engineering Specialty of Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, Executive Director of China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association, Professor of Harbin Institute of Technology; Mr. MA Defu, Expert of the Education Commission for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, and Expert Committee Expert of the “Internet+” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in China; Mr. YANG Zhongyi, Professor of Sun Yat-Sen University, Dean of the Institute of Environment and Ecology; Ms. ZHOU Yuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University School of Environment; Mr. GUO Liang, Deputy Director of the Experimental Center of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology, Secretary-General of the Municipal Environment Virtual Simulation Smart Education Quality Resource Innovation Committee; Mr. BI Xuejun, Vice Chairman of the Alliance, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering , Qingdao University of Technology. The special reports of the forum focused on the integration of industry and education to help the cultivation of water supply and drainage science and engineering professionals, the key success factors of industry-education integration, corporate social responsibility and corporate environmental education, the exploration and practice of environmental innovation and entrepreneurship education integrating thinking and innovation, and the municipal environment virtual simulation innovative practice education construction, industry-education integration talents training model, etc.
     
    In the round-table dialogue session, 6 special guests from universities, enterprises, and industry were invited to share and exchange experience in school-enterprise cooperation with the theme of "Building a New Model of Multi-Win Industry-Education Integration", to jointly explore new paths and new ideas for industry-education cooperation.
     
    The 1st Environmental Industry Human Resources Summit Forum is themed "New Era, New Manpower, Winning the Future". The forum focuses on the development and transformation of human resource management in the new era under the background of industry-education integration and digitization, from human resource reforms, environmental protection talent supply and demand analysis, digital talent management, talent training models, and cultural integration. Ms. CAO Zhaoxia, co-founder and vice president of Shenzhen Huaxia Cornerstone Industry Service Group Co., Ltd. (华夏基石产业服务集团); Mr. HU Ming, vice president of Reignwood Aviation Group (华彬航空集团); Mr. ZHANG Zhiwei, vice president of 51job Assessment Research Institute; and Mr. ZHAO Xiaodi, vice president of Beisen Research of Talent Management, were invited to give professional sharing, with focus on "How to Build Enabling Platform Organizations”, “Human Resource Management Reform in the Digital Economy Era”, “Environmental Protection Industry Talent Supply and Demand Analysis and Recruitment Optimization”, and “Digital Talent Management”.. Representatives of BEWG,, Beijing Capital, Qingdao Guanghua Environmental Protection and other enterprises conducted case sharing based on corporate practices.
     
    In the round-table dialogue session with the theme of "Enterprise Talent Strategy Practice in the Digital Era", 6 senior managers, college deans and experts from environmental enterprises, universities respectively discussed how to promote the organic talent supply side of universities and the demand side of enterprise talents. The topics of integration, digital human resource strategic transformation and other topics have been fruitful interaction and sharing. Mr. YU Liguo was invited to participate in the dialogue and put forward constructive opinions to promote the transformation and development of human resources. He pointed out that the school-enterprise cooperation to cultivate environmental talents has become the consensus of school-enterprise cooperation. With the acceleration of the in-depth integration of industry and education, it will greatly promote the development of innovative high-quality environmental talents will help the transformation and upgrading of the environmental industry, and will eventually become an important engine for the strategy of strengthening China with talents.
     
    On the morning of 22 November 2021, the Beautiful China-2020 Environmental Industry College Student Recruitment Fair (Qingdao Station) was held on the North Campus of Qingdao University. of Technology. The job fair was in the "online resume delivery + offline double selection meeting" model. Nearly 100 college students from Qingdao University of Technology, Shandong University, Ocean University of China, Qingdao University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Qingdao Agricultural University, etc. participated in the recruitment fair.
     
    More than 30 famous environmental companies, including BEWG, China Everbright Water, China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau, Municipal Research Institute, GreenTech Environmental Co., Ltd. (金科环境股份有限公司), and Kunming Dianchi Water Treatment Co., Ltd. (昆明滇池水务股份有限公司), provided job opportunities, bringing a total of 216 jobs. According to statistics, from 20 September 2020 on, cumulatively 5,000 persons participated s in this online job fair and more than 2,000 resumes were collected; cumulatively 347 students participated in the offline job fair, and employers received 3,259 resumes in total.
      
    The job fair bridged supply and demand, and meanwhile provided strong support for the Alliance to become the first platform for industry-education integration in the ecological environment and the HR ecological constructions.
     
     
    In the future, the Alliance will, with the supports of national policies and governmental authorities, continue to uphold the mindset of “corporate entities, market orientation, industry-academia-research in-depth integration”, actively absorb and integrate more high quality resources from enterprises, universities and research institutes, innovate the communication and dialogue mechanism, implement the online courses R&D, accelerate outcome translation, work hand in hand to create the coexisting and co-prosperous industrial ecosystem, and make greater contributions to the environmental industry ecosystem building and the innovative talents development.
