On April 19, Lai Mingyong, Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Democratic Construction Association (DCCA), led a research group to conduct a research in Changde around the topics of "Promoting the realization of the value of ecological products of Dongting Lake and fostering the new green energy of the Great Dongting" and "Construction of the wetland system of Dongting Lake". The company also conducted research on the topic of counterpart consultation, and visited Changde Regional Company's artificial wetland project for field inspection and thematic research. During the period, the research group first visited the exhibition hall of Changde Water Purification Center to understand the planning concept and operation of the project. With advanced water treatment technology and scientific wetland ecosystem construction, the project can effectively enhance the efficacy of sewage treatment, realize the recycling of water resources, and provide strong support for promoting the ecological restoration of Dongting Lake and improving the quality of ecological environment. Subsequently, Lai Mingyong and his team visited the site of artificial wetland, and carried out in-depth exchanges with experts and representatives of enterprises on the current situation of wetland protection, enhancement of ecological function, and construction of scientific research and monitoring system around the topic of "construction of wetland system in Dongting Lake".
 
Lai Mingyong emphasized that the Dongting Lake wetland is an important ecological barrier in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the construction of its system should follow the laws of nature, adhere to systematic management, scientific restoration, strengthen the ecological function of the wetland, and enhance the biodiversity, and at the same time pay attention to the coordination with the local economic and social development, and to create a wetland model of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature.
